FIRST-EVER DIGITAL RELEASE!
This unusual collaboration between Sven-Åke Johansson and Alexander von Schlippenbach features the duo in avant cabaret mode. Stirring piano passages underpin vocal turns that are alternately romping, rhythmic, and spare. The overall effect is oddly mesmerizing.

"Johansson and Schlippenbach are long-time collaborators who’ve worked in areas ranging from bombastic post kaputt-play (that’s the German phrase for free/high energy improvisation) explosions to mock piano/vocal lounge act antics. Blind is in the latter mode and is the legitimate heir to their original lounge act. The delivery here – Johansson opts for recitation, at times of a rather dramatic nature in lieu of singing – implies that the duo has moved uptown out of the clubs to a high class cabaret. The pianist ably supports him with a laid-back demeanor that at times gives way to some dense rolling interludes. Obviously there’s a humorous edge here, but it’s done with a straight face that makes it all the more effective."
